In this novel, she is brought in to investigate a series of claims on life insurance policies by a Boston-based life settlement fund where the insureds are dying in highly suspicious circumstances. She navigates the bizarre and morbid world of life settlement funds, where promoters sell funds that buy up life insurance policies and where financial returns are based on the insureds death rates. Alex forced to take on the Russian backers of the life settlement fund, as well as a Mossad trained assassin and puts her life on the line to unravel the labyrinth case.
